Our Progressive Art Installation story—in pictures

The Progressive Art Installation began right after the Annual Meeting in January 2023. At that meeting, I challenged the congregation with this: “What makes you come alive? Go and do it.”

Jeff Scruggs helped us envision a design with butterflies that would grow and change each week. It started with a stump – then a meadow and leaves appeared, and soon flowers. Each week more and more blossoms bloomed. A cocoon formed high up on the tree. On Easter, a large kite-like butterfly took flight. But, that wasn’t the end of it because the meadow grew and grew and transitioned from the front wall to side wall and finally came to rest outside.

My thanks to Jeff and the worker bees: Wendy and Ruthie Whitlock, Pastor Jim, Jennifer Hoppe.
