What truly defines us as a church family?

It’s not the building, but the vibrant, tangible ways we bring our mission statement—Sharing God’s Unconditional Love, Justice, and Extravagant Welcome—to life every single day.

Today, as we observe National Transgender Day of Remembrance, we powerfully embody our commitment to Extravagant Welcome and justice for all God’s beloved children. This witness, however, is just one thread in the rich tapestry of our shared ministry.

We see this mission alive when the shower trailer rolls out, extending Unconditional Love through practical dignity and care to those experiencing homelessness. We see it in the compassion cart, transforming every grocery run into an act of defiance and worship against scarcity and cruelty. We see it in the prophetic voice of our preaching and liturgy, fearlessly speaking truth to power and championing Justice. And we see it in the quiet acts of support: the phone calls, the visits to the hurting, and the generous sharing of time, talent, and treasure by each of you.

There are countless ways our mission statement jumps off the page and into action.

As we move through this season of thanks, how will we continue to “bee” the church—in word and in deed? Let us celebrate and sustain these beautiful acts of love.

Shalom, Paul
