We’re in this together, thanks be to God!

Change is an inherent part of life, and it’s certainly a dynamic force within The Palms. And wow, we had a lot of recent changes in personnel upfront and behind the scenes in 2025: new Treasurer, new janitorial services, Pastor Jim is leaving, change in payroll services and office manager. Whew! That’s a lot!

As a faith community, as we continue to evolve and grow, we’ll undoubtedly encounter various transitions – whether it’s welcoming new members, adapting our programs, or envisioning new paths for justice and outreach.

In our tradition, we embrace these transitions not with trepidation, but with an open heart and a commitment to shared discernment. We believe that every voice holds wisdom, and that the most meaningful transitions emerge from open dialogue, thoughtful consideration, and a collective vision for our future.

When changes arise, our approach will always prioritize transparency, compassion, and a deep respect for our diverse perspectives. We’ll create spaces for conversation, listening, and collaborative planning, ensuring that as we move forward, we do so together, guided by our shared values of inclusion, equity, and love.

Let us remember that while the landscape around us may shift, the foundational spirit of our community – our dedication to sharing God’s unconditional love, working for social justice, and providing a radical welcome – remains steadfast. By leaning into these transitions with grace and intentionality, we strengthen our bonds and deepen our impact on the world. We’re in this together, thanks be to God!

Shalom, Paul
