Dear Friends,
As I write this, the election results remain unknown. I do not yet know if we are facing a sweeping wave of change or a continuation of the status quo. But regardless of the outcome, one thing remains crystal clear: our work is not done.
Whether you are feeling empowered or defeated, elated or deeply weary, our sacred calling remains unchanged. We are called to share God’s unconditional love, passionately pursue justice, and practice extravagant welcome.
Now, more than ever, we are called to love our neighbors as ourselves, break the yokes of oppression, and stand boldly as a voice alongside those on the margins of society.
So, take a deep breath. Center yourself in faith and community. Rest if you must, but then let us join together, roll up our sleeves, and continue the ongoing work of bending the moral arc of the universe toward justice.
With all due respect to the Hokey Pokey, that’s what it’s all about!
Shalom, Paul
