As the desert summer begins to settle into early autumn, it offers a natural moment to look back and give thanks for the remarkable ways God has moved through our congregation over these past months. Though the summer months often bring a change of pace, our life together at The Church of the Palms has been vibrant, active, and deeply meaningful. We didn’t stay in the cocoon of A/C but we actually went out and did things!
Together, we have accomplished and experienced so much:
- Sacred Music & Celebration: Thanks to your generous support, we fully funded and welcomed our new grand piano, filling our sanctuary with incredible music. We also enjoyed lifting our voices together during our joyful August pre-worship hymn sings.
- Radical Hospitality & Fellowship: In stepping up our support for the “Feet-N-More” shower trailer, you continued to show what it means to be a welcoming, hands-on community of faith.
- Improving Our Home: We made our campus even more accessible and inviting for all God’s children with the addition of new accessible parking spaces and the installation of our Little Library, extending a quiet word of grace and learning to our neighborhood.
- Extending Our Inclusive Love: From our Juneteenth observation, our celebrating Pride Sunday, to our ongoing work with our LGBTQ+ Ministry Team, we reaffirmed that no matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are genuinely welcome here.
Thank you for your steady generosity and your commitment to being the hands and feet of Jesus in Sun City and beyond.
Shalom, Paul
