A time of transition is upon us, as we prepare to say farewell to Pastor Jim and welcome Pastor Mark. We are deeply grateful for Pastor Jim’s dedicated service and the many ways he’s guided our congregation. His leadership has been a blessing; he’s been the “yin” to my “yang.” We wish him well as he journeys to Canada. His last Sunday will be September 14.
There are a couple of things you won’t want to miss concerning Pastor Jim’s departure. Sign up to attend the Open House in his honor, in King Hall from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, September 6. Food will be provided. And give to our “Pastor Jim Love Gift”—the envelopes are in the narthex.
As we look to the future, we are filled with hope and excitement for the new season God is calling us into with Pastor Mark, who begins on September 1. We trust that his unique gifts and vision will enrich our community and help us continue to grow in faith, justice, and love.
This transition is a sacred journey we will navigate together, with grace and open hearts. Let us commit to supporting both pastors and to embracing the change with a spirit of unity. We believe that God’s presence will guide us, ensuring our church remains a beacon of progressive faith in our community. Let us give thanks for the past and look forward with anticipation to all that is to come.
Shalom, Paul
