We Are More Than Just Words: Our Faith Is Living!

It’s easy to speak in high-minded, aspirational phrases: justice, compassion, beloved community. But as a progressive church, our true testament lies not in the eloquence of our language, but in the daily rhythm of our actions.

Do our deeds truly reflect the magnificent words we proclaim? When we speak of radical hospitality, are we genuinely reaching out to those on the margins, or just welcoming people who look and think like us? When we pray for peace and justice, are we showing up at the city council meeting, the protest, or the food bank?
When our faith gives us opportunities for unconditional love, do we reserve that blessing for just some folks?

Our faith calls us to a higher standard. It asks us to close the gap between the lofty phrases on our lips and the humble work of our hands. Let’s commit this month to an honest audit: not of our budget, but of our behavior. Let’s ensure that every offering, every volunteer hour, every uncomfortable conversation is a tangible, living expression of the values we hold dear.

This is how we build the Kin-dom of God—one honest action at a time.

Shalom, Paul
