Three steps forward and two steps back!

Three steps forward and two steps back! That’s a phrase I have used throughout my life when describing situations that don’t seem to be going in the direction in which I want. It is as if we literally have taken three steps and then have to go backwards. Going backwards seems so hard after these steps moving forward.

This certainly applies to dealing with Covid.

All along in this pandemic we have stated that we will follow CDC guidelines and not what governors or presidents say. Comments from politicians are often just that, political. While the CDC is not totally separated from politics, I do trust that their guiding principles are based on science and not reelection.

CDC is recommending that we wear masks inside for large group activities (like worship). And so, we have followed that recommendation. Plus, we are trying to provide safe social distancing. What makes this round a little different is that the CDC tells us that this new variant of Covid, while more contagious, is less likely to cause hospitalization or death for vaccinated people.

So, get vaccinated. Wear a mask. Be smart in your social interactions. It’s the only way to start moving three steps forward again.
