Doing Grief Community Healing Project at the Palms (DGCHP) invites you to register for some new programs and services that will begin in February.
Initial offerings include spiritual direction:
1-on-1, family dyads/groups, and small groups (see descriptions below), offered by Rev. Shea Darian, a UCC minister, certified spiritual director, and grief educator. Story Circles are facilitated by Dr. John Genette, a storyteller, musician, and experienced story circle facilitator. A suggested donation or freewill offering will be accepted; however, all are welcome to DGCHP offerings regardless of ability to pay.
Sacred Listening Circles (for 4-6 participants):
A confidential, contemplative speaking and listening process to discover inspiration, healing, and guidance for everyday life. Group meditation, personally-reflective story-telling, and deep listening techniques help participants to access their inner wisdom and validate the wisdom revealed in others’ stories. No preparation and no experience required.
Healing Circles:
A Sacred Listening Circle (see above) for those who are actively grieving a significant loss. Participants are encouraged to reflect on brief readings and guided contemplations related to their personal grieving process between sessions.
Story Circles (for up to 12 participants):
Story Circles provide opportunities for small groups of people to make connections and feel a sense of belonging by listening intently to one another’s brief personal stories around a common theme. No preparation and no previous experience in storytelling is required. A story circle is not a performance for an audience. Rather, a story circle is a friendly, inclusive, communal creative experience that fosters empathy and healing through attentive listening.
