Every trip to the grocery store? Yes, every trip to the grocery store! Every trip to the grocery store, whether it’s your weekly shopping list or you just need one thing to fix a beloved recipe, I want you and I to turn into a worshipful moment. Transform your trip into a worship moment. Permit me to explain.
We acknowledge the need for prayer, but the depth of our community’s hunger crisis demands tangible action from those of us who are blessed with financial stability. Those of us with secure jobs or stable pensions, this is our chance to actively respond.
The Challenge: This week, please purchase a simple, shelf-stable item (like rice, canned vegetables, or a box of pasta) and place it in the Compassion Cart at church. And keep doing it every time you go to the grocery store!
Is this an extraordinary request? Yes! Because these are extraordinary times! Our call is to share our abundance, not build more barns around ourselves.
Help us overflow the marked Compassion Cart in the narthex. We will joyfully wheel it forward alongside our regular offering, a powerful visual testament as we ask for God’s blessing on our gifts and our outreach.
Shalom, Paul
