“Don’t Stray From Your Good Road”
an Indigenous worship service at Church of the Palms

This worship service is in honor and celebration of National Native American Heritage Month. All liturgies and prayers are from Indigenous writers. Including our scripture text: Luke 11:2b-4 found in The First Nations Version: An Indigenous Translation of the New Testament.
The Liturgist for the service will be Eric Holmes, a Chickasaw Nation Member. He is a member of the Church of the Palms where he services as co-chair of Ministry and Outreach. He is a Hospice of the Valley volunteer, HOA Treasurer in his community and married to Michael Balch.
Special guest, Eunique Yazzie, a Dine’ Nation Member (Navajo) Phoenix resident and entrepreneur will present: “A Personal Story and Insight as to How Hope, Faith and Identity Have Impacted My Life”. She is a poet and storyteller with the Mujeres Del Sol collective; a board member of Roosevelt Row CDC; a working artist, muralist, and illustrator; co-founder of Cahokia Socialtech + Artspace; founder of Indige Design Collab; and owner of euniQue, LLC.
Dr. Farina King, a Dine’ Nation Member (Navajo) addresses: “Returning Home: Sustaining Land and People”. She is an Associate Professor of History at Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She is also an affiliate of the Cherokee and Indigenous Studies Department and the Director of the NSU Center for Indigenous Community Engagement.
