It’s the Season of Journeying through the Shadows to the Light.

We have entered Holy Week, the most sacred stretch of our liturgical year. It is a journey that mirrors our own lives: a movement from the intimacy of the table to the shadows of the cross, and finally, to the breathtaking joy of the empty tomb.

Our mission of sharing God’s Unconditional Love and Justice feels especially urgent this year. As we witness our nation’s involvement in an amoral war, we remember that Jesus’ journey was one of non-violent resistance against the empire. We are called to follow—not just in prayer, but in peaceful protest and tireless advocacy for a world where “peace” is more than just the absence of conflict.

Please join us as we walk this path together:

  • Maundy Thursday: Tonight at United Church at 5:00 p.m.
  • Good Friday: Labyrinth Walk (self-guided 9 a.m. to noon) and Worship at our Homeless Jesus at noon.
  • Easter Sunday: Early Worship at the Fountain Patio (8:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Preaching) and Traditional Easter Worship (10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary where I will be preaching).

In this extravagant welcome, there is a place for your grief, your hope, and your longing for justice.

Shalom, Paul
