After a two-year absence, Church of the Palms is happy to announce that the Spaulding Memorial Thanksgiving Dinner will once again take place in King Hall on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24, 2022. We’ll be serving the meal between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM. This meal takes place with generous donations of food from our congregants and a small army of volunteers that leave afterward saying, “Wow, that was fun!”
The goals of our Spaulding Memorial Thanksgiving are as follows:
• Provide an opportunity for ministry
• Provide extravagant welcome
• Remember the Spauldings
• Have fun!
We’ll provide an opportunity for ministry by giving those who would not normally have a place to gather on this day a festive place to be with others and reflect upon God’s blessings. We will provide and extravagant welcome by ensuring that each guest feels respected and valued from the moment they step on the property until they get back into their vehicle. For those of us who knew Roy and Joyce Spaulding, it’s an opportunity to honor their memory and share their story with those who continue make the Church of the Palms such a wonderful place. Finally, those of us who spend part of our Thanksgiving day together have fun. We laugh, smile, and enjoy working together to make someone else’s life a little better.
