Would you like to be God’s heart and hands right from your own home (even in another state)? Consider becoming a Pen Pal for a woman at Perryville Women’s Prison. You can write a note or use email to give an encouraging word of faith and hope.
Some of these women do not receive family visits or even letters from anyone. They often do not feel like one of God’s children. We have received several thank ou notes from women at Perryville just thanking us for the birthday or Christmas cards we have sent. Think how much more they would appreciate a Christian friend with whom to correspond!
As Bryan Stevenson of the Equal Justice Initiative says, “Each of us is more than the worst thing we’ve ever done.” “The sign of the saved is their love for the least. As He calls, He equips,” according to Max Lucado. “I tell you the truth, anything you did for even the least of my people here, you also did for me.” Matthew 25:40.
We are having a Pen Pal meeting on Monday, June 5th at 1:00 PM here at COTP, with a Zoom option. On our correspondence, we never use last names. COTP is the return address. Come join us to hear other Pen Pals’ stories!
