Thirty years ago I was listening to President Bush give the State of the Union address. The governor then gave the State of the State and the mayor the State of the City. I thought, “Why can’t a preacher do the same thing with the church?” To my mind, my thought was so original and unique. I started dedicating one Sunday in late January every year for the State of the Church. Original and unique? Ha! While not a new thing, preachers have been doing it long before I was born, it is a good idea: a State of the Church. At our Annual Meeting this Saturday, January 29 at 9:00am, we’ll gather and do the business of the church; included in that will be the State of the Church Address by me, featuring a look back at last year (including highlights and lowlights) and a view into 2022. I hope you can make it. Shalom, Paul |
Don’t miss my State of the Church address
