Love is patient.
But often we demand things to happen on our schedule.
Love is kind.
But our actions don’t always match our lofty phrases.
Love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude.
But there are times when we are.
Love does not rejoice in wrongdoing but rejoices in truth.
We celebrate the mistakes of our enemies and laugh at their foibles.
Love bears, believes, hopes, and endures.
Our desire is to do the same.
Love can be shown through our actions.
Love is resilient determination.
Love digs deeper and gives more.
Love is made evident in big and small ways so that the world becomes a better place.
The above is based on a litany found in the One Great Hour of Sharing resource packet. That special offering is this Sunday. The OGHS offering is designated to help people throughout the world who have experienced war, violent storms, and economic ruin. It helps girls get educated and women to start small co-op businesses in impoverished areas. It is the church being the church. I give more to this offering than any other special offering. I encourage you to do likewise – give generously!
Shalom, Paul
