Each year, Christians around the world mark the first Sunday in October by coming together for communion. This year, World Communion Sunday falls on October 1st. And, as described in Luke 13:29, “The people will come from east and west, from north and south, and will eat in the kingdom of God.”
As members of the United Church of Christ, our worship on this day rejoices in our unity given in Christ, which transcends our brokenness and division. Our unity is fully expressed in communion, which reminds us that we welcome one another at the table as Christ welcomed us.
Come and celebrate this holy meal with your brothers and sisters from around the world.
Shalom, Paul
